Description:
Jeremiah 31:31-34 “Behold days come, saith Yahveh (the LORD), when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt…”
The prophet Jeremiah spoke of the relationship between the Torah (instruction/law) given to Moses and the New Covenant (“Brit Hadasha”). Six hundred years after Jeremiah’s prophecy, the New covenant was ratified in the first century with the atoning death of Messiah Yeshua! This passage from Jeremiah is repeated in the eighth chapter of the Book of Hebrews in the New Testament. Please note that in the Hebrew language, “testament” and “covenant” are the same word: “brit”!
In this Prophetic Print, the Ten Commandments are gold foil stamped. The Hebrew text of Jeremiah 31:33-34, which shapes the tablets, is also gold foil stamped. The English translation ( “…for I will forgive their iniquities and remember their sin no more.”), printed in burgundy ink, forms the cup of redemption, which symbolizes the new covenant.
The Passover seder (the traditional meal at Passover) is gauged by four cups of wine – the cup of sanctification, the cup of judgment, the cup of redemption and the cup of praise. The first two cups are partaken of before the meal, and the other two cups are consumed after the meal. Luke 22:20, speaking of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), states: “in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten (the Passover meal), saying, ‘This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.’” Of which cup was he speaking? Clearly, it was the third cup, the cup of redemption! Yeshua proclaimed the new covenant in his blood while taking up this cup of redemption. This is where the communion cup originates.
The depth of meaning of this Prophetic Print has been enjoyed by pastors and students of Scripture throughout the world.
